Sound Radiation Characteristics of Acoustically Thick Composite Cylinders and Their Experimental Verification

چکیده

Cylindrical shells made of composite material form one the major structural parts in aerospace structures. Many them are acoustically thick, which ring frequencies much higher than their critical frequencies. In this work, sound radiation behaviour thick cylinders is presented. Based on and acoustic wave number diagrams, modal average resistances frequency band interest theoretically determined. The wavenumbers determined considering transverse shear deformation. results show lesser between frequencies, significant near beyond. absence present efficiency considered to be unity at all beyond frequency, including frequency. same cylinder experimentally they very good agreement with theoretical estimates. As part investigation, an expression for determining also

Heuristics for the Design of Thick Composite Cylinders

A heuristic is proposed for a problem that occurs in the design of thick composite cylinders: the selection of the angles of wrap of all the layers forming a cylinder for given material properties and layer thicknesses. The heuristic consists of a local search algorithm that improves on a given initial design by modifying the angle of a single layer in each iteration. Each design is evaluated b...

Sound Radiation Characteristics for Structural Damage Identification

This paper investigates the sound power radiated from a cracked plate. The sound power is obtained by using a lumped parameters model-based acoustics theory and vibration responses obtained by using the finite element method. It is shown that the vibration mode shapes and crack angle are closely related to the sound radiation characteristics, which can be applied to detect damages such as the c...

The Effect of External Skin on Buckling Strength of Composite Lattice Cylinders Based on Numerical and Experimental Analysis

Currently, lattice composite structures have many applications in aerospace industries. The present research analyzed the effect of an external skin consisting of a lattice’s cylindrical shell on the buckling strength of composite materials, both numerically and experimentally. Two classes of specimens, with and without external skins, were fabricated using the filament winding process. To find...
